To be fair, the first time I heard about the club world cup, I thought it would be like the FIFA world cup format. Was weird that it wasn't and would say how is this s club world cup. I am torn with this new format. But since it's happening in the summer and every four years, sounds great.

A club world cup of 16 teams, I think would be better, using prior champions league tournaments as qualifying.
Second, use the Euros, AFCON, OFC, Gold Cup, Copa America as world cup qualifying tournaments.
Third, decrease Premier League 16 teams like it was years ago. These three measures would help decrease the number of games per player, PLUS
if players and their greedy agents, didn't demand such exorbitant salaries, clubs could afford bigger squads and give the players a rest. You reap what you sew.
