El Tráfico brings out the fireworks and the festivities and this year’s matchup did not disappoint! Carlos Vela helped LAFC grab an early lead, thanks to an ABSURD goal in the 22nd minute. Not to be outdone, Tyler Boyd scored an outside-the-box SCREAMER in the 41st minute as L.A. Galaxy were able to tie the game going into halftime. With both teams being alert in the second half, Carlos Vela’s penalty finish in the 68th minute helped LAFC grab momentum of the game and they didn’t look back. After going up 2-1, Ryan Hollingshead’s towering header gave LAFC a 3-1 lead in the 75th minute. Not giving up without a fight, Marco Delagado’s goal in the 84th minute helped to bring L.A. Galaxy within one goal late. As progressive as Galaxy were in the final minutes, it wasn’t enough as LAFC holds on to a 3-2 victory over the Galaxy. It was LAFC’s first-every victory at Dignity Health Sports Park.
