  1. The issue is not whether the squad is aging. Martinez could've used Mertens and Trossard as starters or given them more playing time to have an overall impact on the game. Trossard has been one of the most in form players in the Premier League and yet Hazard gets to start each game. Martinez didn't trust his bench enough to make an impact.

  2. Roberto Martinez is showing why he couldn't cut it in the prem. Tactics and team selection are completely outdated. Imagine starting both Hazards when they are rubbish right now. Eden Hazard has been rubbish for years

  3. Croatia won bronze at WC98 in France and some of our aging World Cup heroes like Šuker and Prosinečki played in the 2002 WC team and were horrible in the first game against Mexico that we lost. I guess we learned our lesson and after a big success and the final at WC2018 we today have a younger team. Belgium will hopefully repeat our failure of a bronze medalist of a World Cup to progress from the group at the next WC.

  4. Why is burnley so obsessed with hazard? He has been better than most of their attackers. KDB also hasn't been good this tournament.. the issue here is the useless coach martinez.

  5. As a Croat i don't like fact that everyone thinks we'll thrash Belgium easily. They are great team in a bad moment, but still it's just a moment and everything can change. Hope our players are isolated from this influence.

  6. De bruyne just can perform with Belgium, big difference having world class players, foden, silva , rodri , haaland and that in the city team , then having to play with decent players in the Belgium team

  7. I'm sick with Roberto Martinez.
No point in interviewing this guy.
+ he chose names over talent in the last match against Morocco. Trossard atm is way better then Hazard. It's a shame the team is aging and it was all so promising just 10 years ago.

  8. Martinez lost touch with reality still playing with wingbacks. That system hasn't turned into created chances but left a lot of space behind their backs and made Belgium more vulnerable. Same thing with Batshuayi as a single striker. Batshuayi can't hold a ball and shows no ability for link-up play. The obvious solution is a 4-4-2. Two strikers, full backs with a more counter-attacking mentality. Know your limits, we don't have the team atm to play possession based football. Also we should have a man at the goal posts during corners and free kicks from that part of the pitch. I'm kind of shocked Martinez hasn't figured that out – it's something you learn at age 6. Morocco studied how we defend those set-pieces and exploited it. Almost succeeded twice. The age argument is BS, it's something people say when a team loses. When a team wins, nobody talks about age.

    My 4-4-2
    Lukaku – Openda
    Trossard – Witsel – KDB – Doku
    Vertonghen – Faes – Aelderweireld – Castagne
    Courtois

Would have picked Onana over Witsel but he's suspended.
