Japan played way conservatively and way too cautious, some of the player looked too hesitant to take the shot themselves and resulting in either holding too long for Croatia to reinforce the defense and take the ball from them or they pass it into other player who are not in a good spot, there's a time where Tomoyasu could take a shot but he pass it into non-existent player and Croatia intercept the ball which is a regretful missed chance, either way to be able to push all the way to penalty time against last year finalist is impressive in itself, penalty is more of a gamble anyway so it's not like they're crushed like in case of Korea vs Brazil that match was painful to watch if you're Korean fans

    You always praise the opponents and 95% of the time talk about the opponents?
    Croatia, a country with 3.8 million people finished 3rd in 1998, and played the final in 2018. this year we play the semifinals of the nations league and qualified between the best 8 on the world cup AGAIN. What did the US do? What did England do? What did Japan do?…Stick your soccer up where the sun doe not shine.
    A little praise and respect would be nice…..

  21. I wouldn't say that Japan reached their limits,the tactical choices made by the coach were very conservative and cautious.Japan has the ability and the qualities to outplay any high level team upfront and create chances.
