  1. I noticed that Gonzalo dropped a few pounds, and he looks great (and happy). It warms my heart to see MLS has enough quality to demand that those players with talent still have to keep their bodies in playing shape.

  2. Man… Miami desperately needs that Freedom Park stadium soon. Anything near downtown Miami. Attendance has been horrible, yet I don’t believe it’s the fans or the team’s fault. The location of the temporary stadium is just WAY too far away from downtown Miami, and is in about the worst place you could put a major football stadium in. It is essentially sandwiched in between an airport and what looks to be some sort of industrial park. I can definitely understand why they’re dead last in attendance, and I don’t think any sort of blame could go to their fanbase.

Despite being dead last in attendance, they occasionally have one of the louder supporters sections in the league, they just struggle to attract the casual fans due to the stadium’s location.

Additionally, I have no clue why the Freedom Park project is taking so long. If I’m a government official in Miami I would be ecstatic for it. Not only will it be privately funded, but the stadium will be surrounded with a public park, restaurants, retail and business buildings, among others. Miami is a city dominated with large buildings and many clubs, however there are not a single major park near the downtown area for those nature lovers. Having a park that is that incredibly large will be a massive attraction for those not only nature lovers in Miami, but thos who simply want a bit of peace, time away from the busy streets and highways of Miami.

This isn’t like Marlins Park at all. This is the perfect opportunity to not only revive football (soccer) in Miami, but to give the citizens of downtown Miami a major outdoor park that I feel is absolutely needed in a city as cramped as Miami.

As a die-hard Columbus Crew supporter, I just want to say to be patient with David Beckham’s plans. You have a great owner who wants nothing more than to grow the sport in your city. I’m pulling for you guys.

    P.S. – Absolutely incredible comeback 😉
