You know every week the mls refs don’t call obvious calls and look the other away. This is insane. If they have VAR then I don’t see the point of watching this league honestly. The man was bleeding in the face. I don’t see how that doesn’t deserve at least a look. It’s outrageous. The games are either fixed or every error from various refs across the league are from independent incompetence.

Man, for a Wednesday night, the crowd was certainly into the match. You could hear the joy as Johnson saved the penalty and the displeasure with the ref at the end.

Call of the end of the game was right. The jersey pull by Castellanos was the first foul to occur. Therefore anything after does not result in a free kick or penalty though if severe enough, a card can still be awarded. Mavinga's elbow was issued a yellow.
The penalty at the end is debatable but the ref should’ve at least shown a clear red card to the Toronto defender for a strong elbow to the face

After the freekick you can see the goalkeeper throw up his arms at his wall. But it's the goalkeepers fault. It was the wall's job to guard that opposite post. The goalkeeper got beat at his own side.
