  1. Forget the embarrassment of this soccer team losing out to the Islanders for that piece of land in Elmont, New York. The real embarrassment is they still don't have an official team name! My suggestion, New York Patriots. Loved to see the looks on Boston/Foxboro's faces over that one!

    "America's Manchester city fc"

    And Manchester City still has to answer to their minority owners, the Yankees. In other words, if the Yankees want to reschedule that all important showdown with the arch rival Baltimore Orioles on a day that the 12-4-3 soccer team is hosting a 13-3-3 New England, then that soccer game is going to get moved to Connecticut or New Jersey while the 79-42 Yankees go up against the 30-91 Baltimore Orioles in a duel to the death!

  3. So, the Bronx won a championship before the New Jersey MetroStars, eh? It's the Babe Ruth Yankees surpassing the popularity of the Giants all over again! Well, better them than the former MetroStars. No team named after their sponsors should ever win a championship.
    Meanwhile, in L.A. County,
    Galaxy=Dodgers
    Chivas 2.0=Angels
