  1. Yeah, there are some announcers who tend to call so much that you barely hear the game. I dislike the majority of French and Spanish announcers. They say a lot of words. I have also heard a few who called the game with a few words, so I know it's not the language's fault.

Over in the EPL, we have a particular announcer, I think he calls a lot of City games, and he speaks as if he is thinking about what to say. "And uh… it's uh… Kevin De Bruyne, and he, uh, lays it uh… off… to uh… Ferran Torres who uh… would pass the ball out uh… wide… to uh… Bernado, who uh whips it into the uh space… and the ball falls to…. *goal*…. and it's uh.. Kun Uh Augero… Uh… who has… uh… put it uh… into the back uh… of the uh… net…. He is literally the worse to listen to. Really don't know his name. But it's so good he wasn't the announcer who called the 2012 title win… "and uh, it's uh, Augero uh…. and uh… Kun uh Augero uh…. puts the ball… uh… into the uh…. back of of the net uh… so uh… they now uh…. will win uh… the Premiere League… with that uh.. chance. Lol.

I think the Bundesliga has a really good announcer. He is the one on the Robert Lewandowski 5 goals in 9 minutes video. I haven't heard him much recently when ESPN covers the Bundesliga.

The Serie A announcer tend to give you a history lesson during the match.

But honestly, Ian Darke is really good too. But my favourite announcer is Derek Rae. He is perfect with pronunciation and he calls the matches really well. i actually miss the pairing of him and Tommy Smythe.

I remember back many years ago, a game was up for a team, and the guy took a shot from distance that looked super weak. The keeper however got across, got down and when he stretched his hands out, the ball shot off his hand and flew outside for a corner. This was when I first grew to like Derek Rae. I remember how he called it:

"And he decides to have a final go from distance (said it quite in a dismissive manner, much ready for the final whistle)…. AND THERE WAS STING ON IT!!!!!"

  2. What a great man Ian seems to be. His humbleness shows when we speaks, i always enjoy to see him on the show. And by the way, He does have a great commentating voice. The amount of talking does have to do with it but most certainly, someone’s tone also does too. Some people just dont got it.
