World Cup Tickets Are Within Reach!

It’s never too early to start planning your trip to see a 2010 World Cup Soccer match! In fact, the earlier you get started, the better. The pre-sold tickets are usually gone in a heartbeat, so the sooner you get the ball rolling the better your chances of getting to a game.

It’s also notoriously tough to get a seat once you’re at the game. Just think of how many people want that seat! You’ve got all the soccer fans of an entire COUNTRY vying for a spot to watch the game for real, so there’s some very stiff competition.

The first step is to take a look at the schedule and decide which match you want to see. Naturally, they’ve already set tentative dates for most of the games. Check your team’s website and see when they’re scheduled to play. These dates are subject to change, of course, but at least you can get your ticket. You can always adjust your own schedule when the time gets closer!

One thing to keep in mind is that World Cup Soccer tickets are usually non-transferable, and they’re pretty strict about seeing IDs. This means that you probably won’t be able to get rid of the seats if it turns out you can’t go.

Once you’ve decided where and when to go, you’re ready to buy. Buying directly from teams or the soccer governing organization is a bit of a challenge. You’re much better off reserving your seats online at one of the many sites that offer World Cup Tickets.

Buying tickets online can be a little sketchy, so here are some tips to make sure you’re getting the real thing and not getting ripped off.

  • Look at customer comments and ratings. You can always check forums and other online communities related to World Cup Soccer and other sporting events. These sites will give you some idea of whether people have been happy with the company’s service or not.
  • If they have a Better Business Bureau seal on their site, you can usually click it and get information about the company from the BBB. The BBB is your best source of information about a company, and you can always check up on them before you buy.
  • Only buy from companies that offer contact information on their websites. A phone number is always best, because this way you know that you can reach them if you need to. You might even call them beforehand and ask them a few questions about the ordering process. This will verify that they aren’t just an order taking facility, but the actual company itself.
  • It’s generally safest to buy tickets online using a major credit card. Credit card companies are buyer friendly, and if there is a problem, you can always reach someone and dispute the charges. With online only payment providers, the dispute process might not be so user friendly.
  • A bigger company isn’t always better. Often, bigger ticket outlets run out faster than their smaller competitors. It’s always a good idea to do lots of shopping around before you buy your ticket. You’ll also find lots of variations in price.

It’s time to start getting those 2010 World Cup Soccer tickets today! If you play your cards right, you’ll be sitting right in the crowd watching your favorite team in 2010!

Preview Of The New Season At MLS

Soccer, Beckham and Sold Out Stadiums the MLS Gets Ready For a New Season

David Beckham won’t be playing football at the World Cup and he will also be missing from Major League Soccer for five months. But does the League need him anymore now that its popularity has increased to such a level that new stadiums are being built and already there are many sold out games? Mark Duckworth takes a look at the new Major League Soccer Season.

The England star may be missing from the football pitch for a few months but if the first week of fixtures is anything to go by then the MLS might not need him at all, with most games having an average of two goals per game and with an average attendance of almost 18,000, this season could be set to be the league’s best.

So for those of you who don’t know, the MLS is split into two conferences with eight teams in each, all clubs meet home and away. The team that finishes with the most points at the end of the season is awarded the MLS Supporters Shield. The then top six sides in the MLS contest the MLS Cup. Out of the league’s 18 seasons only a handful of teams have gone on two win both competitions, the most recent in 2008 where the Columbus Crew dominated the league from start to finish. Most sports have seen attendances on the decline over the past few years so to help with that and with the sheer size of America the league has a number of small Cups that were designed to build and maintain rivalries amongst clubs. One of the most passionate is the Texan derby where FC Dallas and Houston Dynamos do battle for the Texas Cup. The SuperClasico is the trophy David Beckham will be playing for when his side LA Galaxy do battle with Chivas FC.

The league’s popularity has grown significantly over the past few years as ex European superstars have flooded to the United States to prolong their footballing career. The most notable recently, being former Arsenal winger Fredrik Ljungberg who signed for the Seattle Sounders in 2008. Ljungberg has been a big success and with the team playing in the impressive Q-West Field the club has gone from strength and sold out seven home games last season.

So with the season a couple of games old who should you be on the look out for? In the West, the conference should be dominated by Ljungberg’s Seattle, the team has probably the best fans in the league and with timeless Kasey Keller playing in goal for the Sounders they should not be too far away. The Western Conference is also home to David Beckham’s LA Galaxy. It has taken the Galaxy a while to get going but Landon Donovan’s return after a successful spell playing football in England, and Beckham’s eventual return, the Galaxy could finally see some silverware at the Home Depot Centre. The Galaxy do have a new hero in striker Edson Buddle, the hit man scored 15 goals last season and has already notched three in two in the current campaign. The dark horses for this season in the West are current MLS Cup champions Real Salt Lake. The team shocked the MLS when they won the trophy denying The Columbus Crew what would have been a consecutive double. The squad consists more of household names than superstars, and this could be the key for Salt Lake as the defending champions will already be used to the difficult conditions the players have to play in. Their key man is Andy Williams. The midfielder has made over 130 appearances for the club and his experience could prove vital come the play-offs.

The Eastern Conference will be more of a closed book with nobody really being able to challenge the Columbus Crew. The Crew have won three titles in their past two years and are the strongest side in the MLS. They may not have the superstar players but their team is solid and doesn’t have many weak areas. And with an average of 15,000 watching ‘the Crew’ they could soon be getting their title back. Hoping to keep up with Columbus is Toronto FC, the Canadian outfit are arguably the best supported team in the league and regularly sell out their stadium. The team’s performances may have not matched their fan support of late but this season could be different for Toronto, they have a new coach in Predrag Radosavljevic or ‘Preki’ to the fans and is regarded as one of the best in the league. Also with Canadian striker Dwayne De Rosario leading the frontline; Toronto could bring some success to the league’s best fans. Dreaming of upsetting Columbus and Toronto are the Chicago Fire, ‘the Fire’ have promised lots over the last few seasons but not delivered and with ex Fulham striker Collins John in their line-up that run looks like continuing.

So the MLS is underway, there are healthy crowds in the stadiums, coupled with a strong United States international squad, soccer in America could finally step out of the shade and feature more prominently in the world’s most popular sport.

Inter Miami CF vs Atlanta United FC | September 9, 2020 | MLS Highlights

After sharing the spoils in a goalless draw at Mercedes-Benz Stadium September 2, Inter Miami CF and Atlanta United square off in Fort Lauderdale desperate for goals — and a win — Wednesday night.

Beckham A Decoy As The Galaxy Defeats Dallas

David Beckham definitely wasn’t trade into MLS to become just a Southern California soccer player but to show his skills, presence on the soccer field and display his intimidating fame.

The Galaxy devastating win over the FC Dallas at the Pizza Hut Park with a score of 5-1 is not very frequent. Road teams win like that as visitors; visitor teams have succeeded by four goals or more only 25 times in the history of the league or twice or less a year.

However; Beckham was not part of any of the goals on Sunday game; he only managed an assist. But Donovan offered a bit more on the rest. Rarely, that’s not how the Galaxy has played before as Donovan or Beckham had put in 11 of 14 goals previous to last Sunday.

Galaxy’s manager Ruud Gullit accepted a soft spot in his team’s position and snatched his personal strategies. His players played it to perfection, with Beckham wandering smartly about, opening space around him and allowing his side to grasp control prematurely. In 39 minutes the Galaxy managed four goals and to end the massacre Edson Buddle scored the fifth one.

«It was an important game for us, especially after last week, losing at home,» Beckham said. «We had organized and prepared all week for this game. We knew how good they were and how they played.»

Gullit, clearly not fasten strongly to any single structure; he reintroduced Alvaro Pires, who was injured came back to play in that game as the deep-lying central midfielder. Brandon Mcdonald and Joe Franchino managed their central tasks in front of Pires. Franchino was technically moved to drift left.

Dallas certainly began to play without a strong presence while Gullit assured his side without a true leftsided midfielder. But when Beckham started moving around the field he uncovered big gaps.

«I think it worked very well,» Gullit said. «They didn’t know what to do with him. To have that possibility for him (to move into other areas) creates real problems.»

Moreover; Davino was forced to grab his spot, so he wasn’t in a good position while Donovan ablaze from a harsh angle. The attempt ward off the Dallas defender’s foot and the consequence was in no way in doubt from that point forward.

Beckham gave one great assist, choosing to cross from an angle where the majority of players would imagine «shoot.» His fragile flake felt in great way over a Dallas defender and behind Sala for Buddle, who headed it into the net.

«Everybody, all the time, mentions that only Landon and David can score for us,» Gullit said. «This means now that we have various players that can score goals, so that’s good.» Beckham yet had a little fun with it all, denying that he feels targeted about how the players from Dallas kick him. «People ask me if I’ve been kicked more since I’ve been in MLS,» he said, smiling. «Well, no I haven’t. I’ve been kicked in La Liga. I’ve been kicked in the Premiership. You either cry about it or you get on with it. My motto is just to get on with the game.»

A Brief History of the MLS

The MLS aka Major League Soccer debuted in the US in 1993, amid the run up to the USA hosting its first ever FIFA World Cup Competition in 1994. The first season did not officially kick off though until 1996, with ten teams participating – the Columbus Crew, D.C. United, the New England Revolution, the NY/NJ MetroStars, the Tampa Bay Mutiny, the Colorado Rapids, the Dallas Burn, the Kansas City Wiz, the Los Angeles Galaxy and the San Jose Clash.

The early years of competition were dominated by Bruce Arena’s D.C United, with the club taking the first two MLS Cup titles. In 1998 however it was a new upstart team, the Chicago Fire who won it all, and not too long after that Arena quit the club to take on the task of coaching the US National team, who had had a dismal time at the 1998 World Cup. The oddity in this is that the Chicago Fire team who beat Arena’s United was led by coach Bob Bradley, who when then take over the US coaching job when Arena quit in 2006.

The league struggled financially in its first few years, but a surprising quarter finals appearance for the US in the 2002 World Cup renewed public interest in US soccer on the whole. The 2002 MLS Cup, played just months after that fine showing drew a record crowd.

Indeed, so good were some of them that the MLS began losing some of its homegrown stars to the big leagues in Europe. Tim Howard, goalkeeper for the Metro Stars, was sold to the mighty Manchester United in one of the most lucrative contract deals in league history. DaMarcus Beasley of the Chicago Fire left for German club PSV Eindhoven, while Landon Donovan, on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, was recalled to Germany. Donovan’s stint in Germany was brief; before the start of the 2005 MLS season he was sold back to MLS to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy, where he remains one of the biggest stars the MLS has ever produced.

The MLS got a publicity boost of epic proportions when the mighty David Beckham signed for the LA Galaxy in 2007. Although his tenure thus far in the MLS has proved rocky few people deny that his presence has done much to elevate the general public’s knowledge and interest in the MLS.

In 2009 the MLS consists of 15 teams -Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew, D.C. United, Toronto FC,New England Revolution, Kansas City Wizards, New York Red Bulls, Houston Dynamo, LA Galaxy, Seattle Sounders, Colorado Rapids, Chivas USA, Real Salt Lake City, FC Dallas and the San Jose Earthquakes – with more coming in the next few years. The expansion Seattle Sounders, partially owned by comedian Drew Carey have garnered much attention for the soccer media worldwide in 2009, for the fervor of their fans and the unique atmosphere at their games.
