UPDATE: Liverpool owners FSG end talks to buy Bordeaux…Glad this deal hasn't gone through. Hopefully Bordeaux can find an alternative way to regain financial stability!
Taking farmers league to another level
A bit late but this nearly happened to my club shamrock rovers, the owners of Celtic tried to buy a majority stake in rovers which didn’t go down well as although Celtic and rovers have a friendly relationship, they’d 100% use rovers as a way to snatch our talents and take our own talents which is very scummy
I understand, but when you think there are 39 professional leagues in Europe alone and more than 1100 clubs.. we would need 2200 + millionaires just too support them? I don’t think that’s right either so I’m down for multi ownerships.
Bordeaux fan here I’m happy
Fundamentally, multi-club groups shouldn't be a bad thing, as theoretically the clubs should be able to arrange friendlies/tournaments in pre-season and loan prospects from one club to the other. It does seem like monopolization yes and in some ways clubs get lost in the system but it shouldn't be that way.
B9a9n this shit
FSG OUT!!!!
leeds might get bought buy red bull to right? imagine RB leeds
So it’s only a problem now Liverpool are doing it ? 😂😂😂
No way these clubs sold their soul to be part of a group….
👾
Those owners are the definition of glory hunter.
Volkswagen in football universe
Just pulled out of the deal today
This is exactly what could destroy the competitiveness of football. The global game is now becoming an arms race between global consortium and state ownership on whom could amass the biggest resources.
Nice is owned by Ineos not Pacific Media Group and they also own part Manchester United
They should have bought St. Ettiene
I am a City Fan, But I Completely Agree, It is unfair that Clubs can just manipulate Transfers and get past FFP Rules this easily for their own betterment, They can easily send their Special Wonderkids at The Bigger Club and send the old and extras at the Smaller Club, It is clearly a Monopoly that UEFA fails to clear to this day.
"Oh I don't like multi-club ownership! Ban them all!" Yeah let these financially struggling historic clubs just dive into liquidation just because there's a possibility their culture won't survive under the new ownership.
The broadcasting situation in French Ligue is so bad that 8 clubs in Ligue 1 could face liquidation due to lack of broadcast revenues, RSCA Strasbourg luckily will survive due to all the financials aided under BlueCo but yeah, these new owners amirite?
At the absolute worst, the new owners won't help one bit and that's it. Typically it's just for scouting network and getting their youth players to gain some experience on loan. Acting like the new owners will take each and every best players and staffs from these sister clubs💀
That happens with out salary cap
Im just surprised that they didnt see this coming, colombia argentina in Miami!
Part of wefs 2030 agreements and super league but shills will cry yet consent
This is really sad the premier league will eventually become the only league worth watching at this rate. Arsenal please buy a few clubs before its too late 😭
FSG, Citizen Group and Red Bull Group can Buy multiple clubs, but Jim Rat as Minority Owner at Man United and Majority Owner at OGS Nice can't play in the same European Competition.
UEFA 🤡🤡🤡
