  1. I'm an American and it's fun to see him play here, but people have to understand that in the book of his career, what he's done with Barça and Argentina spans 500 pages, and Miami is a nice little paragraph toward the end. He got injured precisely because he played so hard for them during the Leagues Cup run. That's not sustainable, and it makes zero sense to ask him to burn his body out for Miami. Let the man take care of his health and stop creating controversy out of nothing just to have content.

  2. Yes Messi should priotize INTER MIAMI MLS TEAM over his BELOVED ARGENTINA!! What a stupid thing to say, ofc his focus should be Argentina. If he was still playing for a European Club, then you could say that.

  3. Problematic 😂😂 Of course ge prioritises Argentina over Inter Miami, Inter Miami is just his retirement home, where he will play for them just for fun, nothing else lol.

  4. People are mentioning the MLS schedule and respecting International breaks but then again what's the incentive here for MLS? It's not like they have a bunch of players in the league that get called up for their national team so there's really no reason for an MLS break.

  5. Messi went to Bolivia knowing he wasn't going to play. Are you THAT surprised he's going on international duty again? He's the captain and hero of the team! Even if he's sitting on the bench, he wants to be there to support the guys. Then he can come back and sit on the Miami bench some more.

If the MLS wants to see Messi play more, they need to change this ridiculous schedule that ignores international breaks and expects a 36-year-old to play every 3 days. It's like they WANT injuries! Besides, Miami has been so awful that they're not making the playoffs. There's no reason to rush his recovery.

  6. Honestly its bad planning from MLS but hey theyre American they gotta do it their way or no way so they can lay in that bed, had they been in line with fifa calendar then maybe it would have gone better, also why 3 games a week, thats a bit much especially if you include travel

  7. Messi is OLD and waaay past his prime. Messi always gets favorable treatment and always gets penalties and free kicks. Messi's peak was 2018. All those free penalties helped argentina in 2022.

  8. Idk why ppl are surprised lol. His contract with PSG even said he gets to prioritize Argentina duty over club games. I’m sure the same goes for his Miami contract.

  9. Bottom line no one should be complaining at all. Miami was garbage until Messi came in. He came in and played a ton of games at a remarkable level and won them a trophy. He got injured and so Miami is being safe. If Messi decides he is fit enough to play for Argentina all good. If he is choosing country over club again, all good. He has salvaged the season for Miami. Changed the entire culture of the club. Be appreciative of what you got and look to next season where a healthy Messi can help Miami make a run at the MLS Cup.

  10. Messi can and should do whatever he wants. The man completed football and brought a Leagues Cup Trophy to Miami without prior training with the club. Miami was, and it looks like it will remain in last place without him. Only shows his value. US sports pundits are always too critical.
