Why do ppl involved with soccer not seem to hate diving / embellishing / flopping as much as I do?!? It’s a black eye on our sport. Spare me the “salty” comments. As a crew fan I was happy to see Etienne get a yellow card for diving in the box last week. I loathe diving, whether it helps my team or not.
The dude from Atlanta should have been wearing a damn speedo with all the diving he was doing. He embellished and drew the contact himself on both plays that led to PK’s. I just don’t get why this type of behavior is accepted by so many. It would be such an easy aspect of the game to clean up.
I was actually at this game yesterday and the red was so awful 0:54 I was on the screen at the top of the goalie box next to the guy in the blue shirt

I'm pretty sure Columbus's commentator hasn't actually played or watched all that much soccer in her life, Crew just needed someone to fill and in and she was available. She does has a nephew who plays and he's always complaining about dives so her gameplan was to just ignore all the video evidence of there being a foul and make up some narrative about dragging feet, or whatever
So Atlanta can't win unless they have a player throwing himself on the floor in the penalty area ok.
