Ten Hag went with his guts. When you have a team that's been on up, you don't want to mess up the winning combo. These pundits would have come hard on him, had he not played M cTominay and Eriksen, why did he change the winning team. It's the same team that beat Arsenal and Liverpool. Erik ten haag is definitely not an elite manager. He simply cannot be. If any manager out there put mctominay ahead of casemiro is nowhere close to being elite.
the players are not good enought. When you made 10 goals in the Netherland it does not mean, you can deliver 20 goals in the PL. If there is no better goal getter than Christiano, he must play.

This result was mainly down to Ten Haag – I would say 70 Percent – to play Eriksen as a defensive midfielder and Casemiro on the bench, United never had a chance against City. TH may be a good manager in the long term, but he has a lot to learn. Also by keeping Casemiro and Ronaldo on the bench in other games, he will not last with The Glaziers – you can not spend big money on transfers and Astronomical Wages on players and then not use them – irrespective of what the fans think about the Owners.
This loss was on ETH. He should have used more defensive players in my humble opinion. This is how I would have set it up:

Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw,
McTomany, Casemiro, Eriksen,
