  1. No, the buck does not stop with the manager. It ultimately stops with the players. No one can get on the field and play for them. Apart from Harry Kane and a couple others, I have not seen the passion and desire in the Tottenham players for years. Same thing with those spoiled children at PSG. Doesn't matter who you give them as a manager, what new haircut they have, or what new junk food they are pushing for millions of dollars. Doesn't win important games.

  2. Spurs need to sell Kane and Son and start a complete rebuild, but they need a new Manager, GM and get a plan in place and then go get it done. It will take at least 3 or 4 windows to bring in different players and get rid of the average players. Arsenal don't have many players left since Arteta took over.

  3. If all these pundits are against Conte, why weren't they against Potter but rather finding excuses for him even when Potter wrongfully blames Tuchel for a poor pre-season. Very bias pundits

  4. I have a lot of respect for Conte for holding the franchise and his players to account. Coaches are made the scapegoat way too often for poor performances on the pitch. More often than not, it's due to the players not being good enough or their just not performing as they should. And in the business world, when you don't perform, you get fired. But of course, you can't fire players, which is ridiculous.

  5. Frankly, Conte is 90% right. I started following Spurs in 2015 when they were young, scrappy, and exciting. For the past few years, (incl Poch), they assumed "Big 6" standing automatically won them games, and confused when it didn't. They don't defend by "hunting in packs." They move the ball slowly. They don't really press–not even meaning high press, but even in the middle third! They have a better man-for-man roster than nearly anyone, yet are getting outplayed domestically and abroad under very good managers.

Conte bears blame for horrendous attacking ball but but I'm sorry, as a player and I'm sensing huge opportunity and danger, I will run my legs off before I'm conceding 2 goals (well, conceding a goal and a new low for VAR giving another).

  6. Mourinho said the same. MANAGERS DON'T SIGN PLAYERS. THE BOARD DOES.
The message is simple. It doesn't matter who the manager is, THESE players are happy to just take the money, and the owner and board of Spurs are too thick to see it.
It would seem the ESPN pundits are, too.

  7. These analysts are truly illiterate. Listen to Comte’s comments. He said: he has some of the blame, the board has some of the blame, but where is the blame of the players? Of course he was directing it at the players. I guess this is the analysis you get when you put illiterates behind a desk.

  8. Conte is one of the biggest cry babies ever, they gave the players and he absorbs himself of all responsibility . If this was pep or klopp they wouldn't get awaybwith this nonsense

  9. Spurs should NOT get another top manager like Mourinho or Conte, they should get someone young who doesn't have high demands, who doesn't have great pressure, who can work with a lower budget like for example Klopp had at Dortmund.

  10. Conte is full of what the bull left in the pasture. This is the same thing he tried to pull at Chelsea and the owner saw through it and sacked him. He tried to take it back but it was too late. However, it is not all Conte.
The issue is with the owner and when you realise this, you will tailor your expectations. His priority is not winning trophies, it is running a profitable business. The way that business is being run, the football team will soon become irrelevant. They will have loads of money making exploits and not concern themselves with winning football trophies.
The attitude to winning football is filtering down to managers and the team. It is not going to change anytime soon.
I have given up on expecting anything different.

  11. I think that this discussion of the latest Conte rant is the best that I've heard. Balanced and logical. Another network got this all wrong. (I particularly liked Jan's observation that if they muddle into the top 4 everybody will think this tirade was genius. So true.)

  12. Pochhetino,Jose Mourinho and Conte can't manage Spurs with Kane and Son and a decent squad on paper.

Then probably something is wrong at Spurs. The culture of winning is not there. The mentality is not there.
They can't score a goal in 2 leg of Champions league against Ac milan.

They need leaders in that team.

  13. Levy has sucked the soul out of football. He sucks joy and purpose from the players, from managers and from fans. Many fans are too stupid to realize the source of the problem but the chants of "Levy Out!" are only going to grow when Conte is gone. Mark my words.

  14. Conte is spot on. What's the problem? Those players don't have passion. There's no fight in them. He can't teach that. That has to come from within, but they lack that. None of them could care less about the badge on that shirt. All it means to them is a paycheque. There's nothing to inspire them playing at that club.

  15. If Mourhino and Conte both were hired and the team still plays the same, with the exact same attitude, it is the fault of the players. I can guarantee that if Conte went back to Italy, he could probably win some silverwear for a proper club.

  16. I don't think managing in England while your family/wife stays in Italy can be easy long term besides the fact he always looks stressed and even depressed.

  17. When has conte ever backpeddled on criticising an owner or club he was at? He just walks.

Why now with 2 months left? Does he want to stay? Or is it so other owners don't think twice?
